Bank of London announces Board leadership changes
Alfred W. Moeckli appointed Chair of the Board; Monique Melis to lead the Audit and Remuneration Committees
6 October 2026
The Bank of London Group ("Bank of London" or "the Bank"), one of the UK's few fully licensed clearing banks, today announces changes to the composition of its Board and its committees.
After four years with the Bank, Mark Carawan has stepped down from the Board and as Chair of the Audit Committee, effective 29 September 2026, to pursue other opportunities. He will complete an orderly handover of his responsibilities in line with the Bank's policies and regulatory requirements.
As part of these changes, Alfred W. Moeckli has been appointed Chair of the Board and Chair of the Nominations Committee.
Monique Melis will step down as Chair of the Board and assume the roles of Interim Chair of the Audit Committee and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, providing continuity and strong oversight across these important governance functions.
These changes will support the next chapter in the Bank's evolution as it builds the platform for its next phase of growth. In 2025 the Bank invested heavily in management expertise, operational infrastructure, and governance and control frameworks, and took decisive action on legacy issues. Through 2026 and into 2027 it will keep working closely and constructively with its regulators to further improve governance and strengthen risk management and controls.
Tony Bullman, Chief Executive Officer, Bank of London, said:
"On behalf of everyone at Bank of London, I would like to thank Mark for his commitment and counsel over the past four years. This has been an important period in the Bank's development, and his leadership of the Audit Committee has been greatly valued. We wish him every success.
I am delighted that Alfred will lead our Board and that Monique will bring her experience to the Audit and Remuneration Committees. Together they give us strong continuity and oversight as we move forward with the Bank increasingly well placed to capture the opportunities of a large and growing addressable market.”
